April Book Haul 2018

My bookshelf may hate me because it's sagging under too much weight and my wallet may hate me because it's getting real lonely in there but... more books!!!!

The Never Dawn- R.E Palmer
I was contacted by Roy this month and he was so kind as to send me a physical copy of his book in exchange for an honest review. From the synopsis, The Never Dawn gives me super Red Rising (Pierce Brown) vibes and I've only heard good things so I'm excited to get into the story and review it soon.

Restore Me (Shatter Me #4)- Tahereh Mafi
Restore Me came out last month and I finally got around to buying. I love the Shatter Me trilogy so much and as soon as I heard we'd be getting another three books, I was eagerly waiting to get my hands on them. This series has amazing characters, a gripping plot and a beautiful romance that will certainly keep you satisfied.

White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements #1)- Jennifer L. Armentrout
I had a little extra money from an Amazon gift card and, when that happens, I always get another JLA book so I can complete my collection of her books (although, she's published over 50 books so I have a long way to go yet). JLA is my favourite author in the world, having written the Covenant series, the Titan series, the Lux series, Don't Look Back and The Dead List which are all such stunning books! All of her characters are bad-ass and hilarious and each of her books are super easy to read. I've never read the Dark Elements series so I'm super excited to get into them.
The Dark Elements is about demons and gargoyles which sounds really interesting and something that I'm sure JLA can pull of stunningly. Plus, there's a romance and JLA creates some of the best romances of all time so I'm all in.
Side note: Ignore the covers- they all look like trashy romance books but they're so good I swear!

Alex and Eliza- Melissa De La Cruz
Because I was in a major Hamilton kick because of seeing it at the West End (full post about it coming soon!!!), I just wanted to watch, listen and read everything Hamilton. And then I realised I didn't have this book and saw it and fell in love. I can't wait to read this because I love the relationship between Alex and Eliza and can't wait to see someone else's interpretation of it.

Renegades- Marissa Meyer
This book has had a lot of hype and I have no idea why it's taken me so long to buy it. Everything I've read of Marissa Meyer has been stunning (the Lunar Chronicles and Heartless are pure genius) and I'm sure this will be just as amazing. I'll admit, I don't know too much about it (I actually don't know anything) but I think I want to go in not knowing and just let myself get sucked up into the story.

Thanks for reading! Feel free to comment your thoughts. Stay amazing!
Chloe

  1. I just started the Shatter Me series! I didn’t like the first book but I read the Novella that’s through Warner’s POV. All I can say is now I’m in LOVE!!!! His story is amazing and so freaking sad.
